Las Vegas, NV (January 15-20, 2019) – Dr. Huang-Lionnet, M.D. was invited to present as faculty for the 2019 NANS Annual Meeting and attend the 2019 Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS) Pre-Conference. The PNS Certificate of Attendance course provided evidence-based and expert-driven instruction while utilizing ultrasound and fluoroscopy for PNS targets in the extremities, trunk, pelvis, and head/neck. The course included comprehensive didactic offering, cadaver lab, live scan models, and anatomic dissections.
Dr. Huang-Lionnet presented a CME lecture on “Round Table of Essential Neuromodulation Cases” along with fellow colleagues Ahmed Raslan, M.D., Neurosurgery at Oregon Health and Science University, and Stephanie Vanterpool, M.D., Director of Comprehensive Pain Services at University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine. She was scheduled to moderate a subsequent discussion along with Dr. Jiande Chen, M.D., Ph.D. focused on the current understanding of neuromodulation as a therapeutic alternative for patients with visceral pain. The current state of clinical evidence and mechanisms behind the therapeutic effect of spinal cord stimulation on the visceral system was explored with faculty, Robert Foreman, Ph.D., FAHA, Bin Feng, Ph.D., Leonardo Kapural, M.D., Ph.D., and Payam Gharibani, Ph.D.
Dr. Huang-Lionnet serves as one of the Scientific Abstract Reviewers and Editor of the NANS newsletter. She has completed her first two-year term as Director-at-Large for the Board of Directors with plans to continue her role as Scientific Program Faculty and Editor. NANS is a non-profit organization devoted to the advancement of the field of neuromodulation, which applies targeted electrical, chemical and biological technologies to the nervous system to relieve pain and improve function and quality of life.
