Julie H. Huang-Lionnet, MD, MBA as Chair of Women in Neuromodulation Committee and Faculty at 2018 North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) Annual Meeting

Las Vegas, NV (January 11-14, 2018) – Dr. Huang-Lionnet, M.D. is the first female pain management physician to serve on the board of directors for the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), where she has also taken the leadership position as chair of the Women in Neuromodulation (WIN) Executive Committee to attract more women to the field.
As Chair, Dr. Huang-Lionnet and the WIN Committee successfully organized their third annual WIN Reception that drew more than 200 participants on a national and international level and featured speaker Luanne E. Thorndyke, M.D., FACP, the Vice Provost of University of Massachusetts, who gave a discussion on “The Art of Graceful Self Promotion” and provided advice to women neuromodulators.
During the 2018 NANS Annual Meeting, Dr. Huang-Lionnet was invited as faculty to provide a CME lecture on “Integrating Cancer Pain into your Practice” as Director of the Cancer Pain Management and Regenerative Medicine Programs at the Sackler Center for Pain Management, Greenwich Hospital-Yale New Haven Health.
NANS is a non-profit organization devoted to the advancement of the field of neuromodulation, which applies targeted electrical, chemical and biological technologies to the nervous system to relieve pain and improve function and quality of life.
Dr. Huang-Lionnet views her participation in NANS as a “great opportunity to become involved with developing innovative treatments and technologies that can improve the quality of life of our patients in the greater New York City and Greenwich communities.”
